Hyders Mahal & Hotel is a 3-star, family-friendly property located about 6 km from Thanjavur's city center and roughly 4 km from the Brihadeeswara Temple. The hotel features air-conditioned family rooms with private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, work desks, and free toiletries. Free WiFi is available throughout the property, and guests have access to a lift, room service, and a 24-hour front desk-a feature not commonly found in similar hotels. A complimentary vegetarian breakfast is provided, though it is sourced from a nearby hotel and served via room service, as the property does not have an in-house restaurant. The hotel also offers free off-site private parking, but the space in front of the building is limited. Hyders Mahal & Hotel is situated near the Tanjore Medical College on a busy main road, providing convenient access to attractions like Adi Kumbeswarar Temple, Kasi Viswanathar Temple, and Mahamaham Tank. The property includes meeting and banquet facilities, making it suitable for small events. Guests can reach Tiruchirappalli International Airport, which is 52 km away, by taxi or private car. Hyders Mahal & Hotel has received praise for its clean, spacious rooms and helpful staff, but some guests have noted that the property also functions as a wedding hall and that services may vary during functions.
Pros
The hotel is located just 4 km from the Brihadeeswara Temple, making it convenient for exploring heritage sites.
Rooms are spacious, clean, and include two queen beds in some family rooms.
The staff are known for being polite, responsive, and helpful, with one guest noting they couriered back a forgotten item.
The property offers free WiFi, free parking, and a 24-hour front desk.
Cons
The hotel does not have an in-house restaurant; breakfast is a packed meal delivered from a nearby hotel.
The on-site parking area in front of the hotel is very limited.
